For the last 6 years, Famicos has led the logistics on the the New Day in Hough summer festival. It is an annual community event in the Hough neighborhood that combines recreational and social service programming by way of sporting tournaments, music, food, culture, and art as well as offering a space for public resources and community entrepreneurs. This year Famicos engaged the community on appropriate programming and decided to include an Arts, History, and Culture Tent display as well as adding a basketball and pickleball tournament to showcase the new Thurgood Marshall Green park which was completed in the Fall 2025. 

Join us in celebrating Hough this year at the New Day in Hough festival August 1, 2026 at the Thurgood Marshall Recreation Center. 

Vendors are an important part of the festival every year. They bring awareness to important social issues including our health and welfare as well as offering a taste of our local talent. If you have been wanting to increase your visibility in the community, consider becoming a Vendor at the New Day in Hough festival. The cost of vending varies according to the type of vendor you are. The fees are: 

• Youth Vendors (For our young entrepreneurs just starting out. Must be between the age of 14 and 24. Proof of Age is required.) - $25
• Nonprofits/Resource/Vendor Tables - $35
• Resident Artist/Vendor/Maker - $100
• Small Business /Retail Vendor - $150
